GLA:D Classes
Have the tools to manage hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms!
GLA:D is an education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people with hip or knee osteoarthritis symptoms.
Research from the GLA:D® program in Australia shows an average pain reduction of 36%, reduced analgesic consumption, and clinically meaningful improvement in joint confidence.
By strengthening and improving confidence with exercise, participants develop better capacity to become or stay active, prevent symptom progression and reduce pain.
Strong & Steady
Strong and Steady is a supportive exercise class designed to help improve strength, balance, and confidence in everyday movement. The class focuses on building full body strength while incorporating balance exercises that help reduce the risk of falls and support long term mobility. It is ideal for older adults or anyone wanting to improve stability, improve balance and keep their independence.
Each session includes a variety of simple, functional exercises that target key muscle groups used in daily activities such as standing, walking, lifting, and reaching. Participants will work through a combination of lower body, upper body, and core strengthening movements, along with balance challenges that help improve coordination and body awareness.
One of the key features of the Strong and Steady class is that every participant receives their own tailored exercise program. This ensures exercises are appropriate for individual abilities, injuries, and goals, allowing everyone to progress safely at their own pace.
The class is guided by an Exercise Physiologist who provides instruction, support, and exercise modifications when needed. Strong and Steady aims to create a welcoming and encouraging environment where participants can build strength, improve balance, and feel more confident moving through everyday life.
