What to Expect at Your First Appointment 

A thorough discussion regarding your medical history, symptoms and lifestyle followed by several tests (e.g. strength, mobility, endurance) and data collection (questionnaires, self-reported information) to formulate an assessment of your baseline levels.

Set short- & long-term goals that are specific to your needs to ensure you are working towards what is important to you. This will also help direct your treatment planning and ensure you remain motivated and compliant.

Based on your assessments, a tailored home program will be designed to specifically help you to reach your goals. You will receive a copy of your home program to ensure that you are working towards achieving your goals as efficiently as possible.

Your treatment plan will be designed to suit your needs based on your initial assessment. This could include: 1-on-1 sessions, small group classes, education, home exercise interventions and both lifestyle and behavioral changes.

Our Modalities

Frequently Asked Questions

To your sessions we ask that you wear clothing that you are comfortable moving around in and closed in shoes. Typically, we suggest shorts or pants and sneakers instead of skirts or dresses. Additionally, please bring a towel and water bottle to your sessions.

No you do not need to a referral to see one of our Exercise Physiologists. Some insurance claims will require you to attain a referral from your GP or specialist prior to your first appointment.

First you need to book an initial assessment with one of our Exercise Physiologists. Once you have had your initial assessment you are able to book through our lovely reception team by calling the clinic on 5413 5202.

In Australia, Exercise Physiology is often covered by private health insurance however depends on your level of cover. We advise you give them a call to check this prior to your appointment. At Fortius Allied Health we are also able to see patients through other insurance schemes including: Workcover, DVA, NDIS, Medicare (not bulk billed) and CTP claims.
