GLA:D is an abbreviation for the title “Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark”.
The GLA:D program has helped people of all ages in managing their osteoarthritis. Research suggests that the GLA:D program promotes reduced pain, reduced use of pain medication, reduced perception in the need for surgery, and improvement in joint confidence.
Through participating in the GLA:D Program, you will have an individualised exercise program tailored to your specific needs, after an initial assessment with one of our highly skilled and experienced Exercise Physiologists.
Your GLA:D exercise program will consist of a set of 10 exercises, plus a warm-up and cool-down. You will participate in the same program for 12 sessions. The program will be completed with a maximum group size of 5 participants per session. This ensures you can receive very personalised supervision and care, throughout your training.
You can also expect two education sessions during the GLA:D program.
The team at Fortius Allied Health truly believes that knowledge is power. Therefore, we believe that the two education sessions included in the GLA:D program are very important.
The education sessions empower our clients by allowing them to ask questions and learn as much as they can, to encourage them to be able to eventually self-manage their condition, outside of our gym walls.
You will also complete a 3 month follow up consultation to continue to progress your goals, strength, and function, in the long-term.
We have wonderful facilities including a variety of top-of-the range equipment, and a very experienced team of trained professionals, and we cannot wait to see you shine in your journey to managing your osteoarthritis, starting now!
